Jet's "Look What You've Done" is One of the Best Rock Singles of the Era

I've never been a huge Jet fan, but that's irrelevant. Objectively speaking, somewhere between Oasis and The Beatles, is the 2003 Get Born single "Look What You've Done." A beautifully catchy ballad, with a bit of poignancy thrown in, the song is one of the best rock singles of the new millennium. As much as "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" has all the swagger, "Look What You've Done" has all the touches of a raise-your-lighter (or, nowadays, cellphone screens) masterpiece. If you like rock ballads, forget 80s super-ballads like "Home Sweet Home" or "Every Rose Has Its Thorn." This song has more depth and songwriting skills in the Lennon/McCartney direction.
