Blondie Superb in NYC

I’ve been a fan of Blondie since their late 1970s heyday but had never seen them live before Sunday night, June 22nd. It was worth the wait. Their show at the Nokia Theatre Times Square was superb. <more>

Detroit7 Interview

by Fred Verhoeven

Detroit7 is trio from Tokyo, Japan that I liked from the first time I heard them. I got a chance to see them live this past March in San Francisco during their stop at The Independent as part of the Japan Nite 2008 Tour. They rocked the house and were
easily the best band of the line-up and my level of liking them shot up to them being my favorite band right now.

Only Schenker Can Really Rock Me, Rock Me...

UFO is not the same band they were in the 70s, 80s, or even 90s. But I was bitten by the nostalgia bug.

DEMO REVIEW:

Project: Failing Flesh
The Conjoined

Got this from a friend who is close to the band for review. Most notable is the fact Eric Forrest (ex-Voivod) provides vocals here and while I wasn't a big fan of Voivod during his tenure I can't fault him at all as no one was ever gonna replace Snake in my eyes and ears. Add in the challenge of doing double duty as Blacky's replacement on bass and this was a no win situation
for anyone one daring to take on the task, so I will give at least credit where credit is due.

Set in Nottingham, England of 1983, This Is England tells the tale of a 12-year-old boy named Shaun (Thomas “Tommo” Turgoose). Devastated by the loss of his father the previous year in the Falklands War and bullied at school, Shaun is searching for both answers and a father figure.
