Guitarist Wolf Hoffmann Feels Good About the New Accept


If singer Udo Dirkschneider was once considered the face of the legendary German metal band Accept than lead guitarist Wolf Hoffmann can easily be the metal heart and soul. When the band called it quits in the 90s, Udo went on to fortify his solo creation, U.D.O., while Hoffmann went on to become a very talented commercial photographer. Thing is, Hoffmann always had Accept's legacy on his mind. Yet, even after a brief Accept reunion in 2005, Udo was more concerned about the future of his solo music.

As Canadians, the hardcore punk band Fucked Up are freaked out by the possibility of Sarah Palin becoming a U.S. President in 2012. "She would go after Canada first," joked frontman Damian Abraham. Abraham pointed out that Canada is, after all, standing in the way of The U.S. and Alaska becoming connected territories.

“Everybody’s Scene: The Story of Connecticut’s Anthrax Club,” by Chris Daily (Butter Goose Press, $18): This fall, I was both surprised and proud when I heard that a book about the Anthrax club was being published. My hometown punk/hardcore scene – which happened to coincide with my own formative years - merits a book? Maybe the music and atmosphere were really as great as I remembered them – and my memories weren’t just growing fonder as I grew older.
