Fucked Up Were Anything But


As Canadians, the hardcore punk band Fucked Up are freaked out by the possibility of Sarah Palin becoming a U.S. President in 2012. "She would go after Canada first," joked frontman Damian Abraham. Abraham pointed out that Canada is, after all, standing in the way of The U.S. and Alaska becoming connected territories.

Pixies Deliver Searing Performance of "Doolittle" (and Much More!) In NYC


Scenes from Un Chien Andalou, the 1929 surrealist film by director Luis Buñuel and artist Salvador Dali were shown on a screen above the stage just prior to the Pixies coming on stage. (The film is referenced in the Pixies’ song “Debaser.”) As the scenes went on, the cheering inside the Hammerstein Ballroom grew louder and louder until the Pixies took the stage. When the band hit the stage, they were greeted by a deafening roar from the New York City crowd.

There's nothing like going to a rock concert at a casino arena. You drop 50-plus dollars for a ticket and then after the show the chimes of the slots and the excitement of the tables lure you in to drop some more green.
